Poverty is no joke – all workers deserve a living wage.

This April Fool’s Day, the National-led coalition government is “raising” the minimum wage by a miserable 35 cents per hour – an increase that falls 1% short of inflation. This is effectively a pay cut for thousands of Aotearoa’s lowest paid and most vulnerable workers.

Unite Union is organising protests in Auckland, Palmerston North, Wellington and Christchurch. Te Hautū Kahurangi | Tertiary Education Union is proud to endorse this mahi and encourages you to attend on 1 April to support your fellow union members in low wage sectors.

AUCKLAND: 4pm @ Britomart Mc Donalds.

PALMERSTON NORTH: 7:30 @ The Globe Theatre.

WELLINGTON: 4pm At Bunny St (Train Station).

CHRISTCHURCH: 7pm @ the Trade Union Centre.
