University Collective Agreement Negotiations 2026.

This year, university members are renegotiating their collective agreements with their employer. Universities in negotiation are: University of Auckland, University of Waikato, Massey University, Victoria University, University of Canterbury and University of Otago.

Meeting with employers to discuss and negotiate collective employments can take time. The more members there are at a worksite, the easier it is for your issues and concerns to be heard by your boss.

Three things you can do to help your collective agreement negotiations:

  1. Come to TEU meetings
  2. Speak up
  3. Ask your colleagues to join with us - the more people that join the TEU the stronger we are.

2026 is a General Election year – and we want to use the fact that politicians will be talking about lots of issues, to get them also talking about vocational education. We'll need your help to achieve this – check out our General Election 2026 page for more resources.

This is our year to use our voice to make a difference to our communities, our learners, and our sector.
