In 2026, we have a choice:
Will pay equity remain an unfinished promise — or become a defining issue of the General Election?
Pay equity won’t happen by accident.
It will happen because we understand it. Because we organise for it. Because we demand it.
The Equity Election conversation series brings together powerful voices to unpack the reality of pay equity in Aotearoa and to build the momentum we need to win it.
This is more than a lecture series. It’s a space to connect the dots between lived experience, research, action and to turn that knowledge into collective power.
Across the series, you’ll hear from:
- A TEU academic grounding us in the evidence
- A representative from the People’s Select Committee breaking down legislative changes and their impact
- A young person's voice on what this means for the next generation
- A community perspective reflecting the real-world stakes of pay equity
Each session will be a dynamic panel discussion, facilitated by TEU National Secretary Amy Ross, followed by an interactive Q&A.
We’ll then move from conversation to action — equipping you with practical lobbying tools and clear asks to take to the politicians who are asking for your vote.
Come to learn. Come to connect. Come ready to act.
Because our future, our worth, and our work are on the line — and together, we can make pay equity central to this elections
Pay equity conversation series starts in Auckland on 20 July
