Grants for Good.

If you need a grant to undertake a project in 2024 that may benefit your sector or wider community, or you are looking to fund some professional development HealthCarePlus’s ‘Grants for Good’ may well be the answer.

Last year, ‘Grants for Good’ supported a wide range of amazing projects both large and small and helped individuals with funding for professional development and hardship.

For example, we helped Michael Waller, a teacher at Westland High School, as they aimed to implement a project-based learning program for at-risk students. With the help of the funding, the students have been able to take ownership of their learning by creating a business and applying their skills in literacy, research, and cooking. The program has resulted in increased attendance and engagement among the students, especially among Māori students.

In 2024, there are again hundreds of thousands of dollars of funding available which will provide a significant step towards making funding for educational projects even more accessible to everyday New Zealanders.

Any individual activity, or small project that has an educational outcome, is eligible to apply for support for amounts from $3,000 to a maximum of $12,000 for one year.

This could include hardship grants to help individuals fund their study, support for people undertaking professional development, or backing ideas for small projects that make working and living in NZ, better for everyone.

Applications for Individual grants opened on 3 July and close on 15 September 2023.

So get in quick if you want to make an application. We'll consider any good idea, from right across NZ.

And finally, here is what Michael Waller had to say about the impact of his Grant For Good:

“We recently looked at the data on our "at risk" students and your project has given our target students the support required in almost all cases to progress to next year or to go to become valuable employees within the community. Projects like this make a difference for generations and it was all thanks to your team thank you!”
