Minister to address TEU Conference.

TEU Conference 2023 is almost upon us! Taking place at Wellington’s Brentwood Hotel on 18 and 19 May, this year’s conference theme is Tō tātou Tiriti, tō tātou anamata, tātou, tātou e | Our tiriti, our future, together.

Not only will delegates be voting on a proposed new constitution that is set to future-proof our union for decades to come, but they will also have the opportunity to hear from, meet and question new Minister of Education Jan Tinetti on the future of our sector. Minister Tinetti will address Conference on Day 1, hot on the heels of her government’s budget which will be delivered by Finance Minister Grant Robertson earlier the same afternoon.

Tumu Whakarae | National President Julie Douglas says, “we are very pleased that the Minister will be attending, and we very much look forward to hearing her plans.”

“There are a lot of immediate problems to solve, and it’s important that she hears them from our members first-hand, but above all we hope she is able to articulate a vision for our sector that has well-resourced and highly valued staff at its heart so we can deliver on the potential tertiary education has to be a game changer in our society.”
