Mega strike on 23 October.

Te Hautū Kahurangi | Tertiary Education is encouraging members to support a massive strike by 100,000 health and education workers next week, described as “the biggest walk-off in about 40 years.”

Striking nurses, midwives, doctors, dentists other healthcare workers and primary and senior teachers represented by ASMS, PPTA, NZEI, NZNO and PSA will participate in rallies in towns and cities all over Aotearoa as a result of miserly offers from the government in collective agreement negotiations.

Te Pou Ahurei | National Secretary Sandra Grey says “it’s important that we show our support and solidarity with our fellow workers facing similar struggles to the ones we face under the current government. I look forward to joining as many TEU members as possible at the rallies, proudly waving our flags. Keep an eye on social media for details.”
