Hau Taki Haere | Tertiary Update Vol 29, No 17
Our National Women’s Committee was given the opportunity to ‘take over’ Tertiary Update this month to mark Suffrage Day. It is more important than ever that we take action. One hundred and thirty-two years after women in Aotearoa secured the right to vote, we are now witnessing blatant government attacks on women through the rollback of pay equity.
In this edition, we celebrate wāhine in the tertiary education sector whose contributions too often go unrecognised. We share their lived experiences and those of their colleagues, highlighting the collective strength in our sector.
The banner we designed symbolises the space of co-governance and the power it holds in ensuring we support one another in our ongoing fight for equity and justice.
