Better Off Together Mid Term Report.
June 10, 2025
Since launching the Better Off Together member benefits program late last year, we've had just over 2,700 TEU members join the program.
Better Off Together is managed on our behalf by HealthCarePlus, a TEU-owned, not-for-profit charity, that has been supporting union whānau for over 60 years. It offers everyday discounts, special offers, services and resources to educate and support our members wellbeing and financial resilience—without costing the union a cent to run, and at no charge to individual members.
So far this year, TEU members and other union members in the program have saved or been refunded over $2.7 million by actively using the member-only offers that are available to them. We want that number to grow even more by ensuring more members join and that we continue to add more localised, relevant, and easy-to-use benefits.

In addition to the benefits provided in the Better Off Together program, TEU members can also apply for an individual grant or a group grant from HealthCarePlus's Grants For Good program which will open for applications on 30th June.
Last year HealthCarePlus handed out 7 group and 11 individual grants worth over $250,000 for a range of special projects, educational initiatives, and professional development.
