Briar Davies - EIT.

With the upcoming bargaining for our combined TEU collective, having a voice is more important than ever. Not only that, but having a voice that is aware of the processes involved in IPC. Having completed a term in IPC as an U35 Representative, I have first-person experience of what this role entails, and will ensure that our words are heard. I have been an academic in the tertiary sector for 5+ years and am well-aware of the areas that we need to change. The goals of the union membership as a whole may be similar, but the U35 cohort have some unique concerns that require addressing, including: instability due to fixed-term contracts and lower comparative salaries/wages. Then there are of course our shared issues around reasonable workloads and pay parity, which if elected I will push firmly on attaining.
