On 16 and 17 June 2021, TEU will be hosting the Academic Freedom Conference 2021, with a call for papers now open.

Academic freedom is a term used often in the tertiary education sector. But what is the lived experience in Aotearoa? And what potential does the exercising of academic freedom provide?

The conference will cover these questions and more, bringing together TEU reps, experts on academic freedom, government officials, institutional management, and student association leaders to talk about the possibilities, practicalities, and limits to academic freedom in the tertiary education sector of Aotearoa.

TEU is seeking expressions of interests for those who would like to present a paper, present creative works, organise a panel, or run a workshop on the topic of academic freedom.

Visit here to submit your abstracts for papers, creative works, panels, and workshops by 15 April 2021.
