In the TEU we campaign to further our aims.
In other words, we strategise, lobby, organise and negotiate for things that we think will improve the working lives of our members. In the area of gender equity, this work is about connecting our expertise across the membership, our union staff and our broader communities to amplify an effective voice for practical change that will positively impact the lives of all wāhine in our sector.
In 2021-2022 the Branch Women's Representative Network and the National Women's Committee have committed to progressing three priority areas drawn from our Gender Equity Vision statement:
Progressing gender pay equity
Building safe and healthy workplaces to protect wāhine from gender-based violence at work relating to sexual harassment and bullying
Advocating for the use of flexible working arrangements that best support wāhine in their working lives.
