Trades Educators
Recently a group of trades educators met in the TEU national office to discuss the Skills Strategy initiated by the previous government www.skillsstrategy.govt.nz and issues for trades education generally. The group also discussed vocational education more broadly, particularly some of the problems facing students transitioning from secondary to tertiary education, which seem to be the result of a lack of a clearly articulated pathway for vocational education.
As a result of the meeting, the group identified the need to revitalise TEU’s trades educator network. If you are interested in being part of the network, which will initially run as an informal email group, please contact Jo Scott in the TEU national office http://scr.im/joscott
