March for Science events will take place across New Zealand on Saturday 22 April and the TEU is encouraging everyone to take part.
The New Zealand March for Science events have been organised to coincide with more than 500 separate demonstrations that will celebrate the positive impact science makes to the lives of people around the world.
Sandra Grey, TEU national president, said “the marches are an important opportunity for people to stand together to advocate for evidence-based policymaking, science education, research funding, and inclusive and accessible science. We encourage everyone to get along to support their local events.”
New Zealand March for Science events will be held in Auckland, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown.
More information about what is happening across the country can be found on the organisers’ Facebook page.
“The TEU will be there on Saturday to highlight the vital contribution science education makes to broad public knowledge, as well as informed policymaking,” Grey added.
