ITP MECA Bargaining 2009 – Update # 7
11 October 2009
Dear TEU members covered by the ITP MECA
We hope that you have had a good couple of weeks during the main student mid-semester break.
During this fortnight your negotiating team has been busy, both planning for if there is a need for continued industrial action and looking at ways in which bargaining can be progressed.
On Friday 9th a small group of us met informally with a small group of Chief Executive and HR reps from the MECA employers, to discuss possible ways ahead.
Coming out of that meeting was a commitment to meet again this week more formally, and to look at the possibilities of mediation.” A day has not been finalised, but it will be during this week.
Given that we are able to meet this week we have given the employers an undertaking that there will be no further industrial action until after we have met.” Once we have had a meeting we will ascertain whether we need to commit to further action, and you can expect to get another newsletter as soon as possible after that meeting.
Thanks for your ongoing participation.
