Today: Public rally to oppose cuts to University of Waikato’s Pathways College
Support the Pathways College staff and students – Tuesday, 4 August,1pm on the village green (by the shops). TEU National President, Dr Tom Ryan will be there to speak about how government policy excluding potential students from tertiary education, and specifically to the bridging programmes offered by the Pathways College, here at the University of Waikato.
And, even if you’re not in the Waikato, you can have your say or leave a message of support at our on-line forum.
TEU Auckland Women’s Fiesta
On 20 and 21 August at various University” of Auckland locations. A series of events, including speakers, workshops, breakfast, a quiz and wine tasting celebrating women’s contribution to the tertiary education sector. All TEU women members from Auckland University, AUT, Unitec, MIT, Auckland Institute of Studies, Open Polytechnic, Massey Albany and the Waikato warmly welcome. Pay Equity petition
There are only a couple of weeks left to sign the pay equity petition. Let’s bring women’s pay and employment conditions into line with those of men. Many TEU members are women. Equitable pay and employment for women means better jobs for all tertiary education workers – men and women. Have friends and colleagues at your workplace signed? Print off a copy and send it back to TEU women’s officer Suzanne McNabb, PO Box 11-767 Wellington by 14 August 2009.
