Call on the University of Waikato VC to save Pathways College
Following pressure from the Tertiary Education Commission, the University of Waikato is considering disestablishing its pioneering Te Timatanga Hou and Certificate of University Preparation programmes. These programmes have over the years helped many first-time students into tertiary study. Students and staff in the Certificate of Attainment in Foundation Studies also face an uncertain future.
Staff and students of the University of Waikato’s Pathways College are rallying in support of their college to protect it from planned funding cuts. TEU believes that the courses offer vital opportunities for potential new students, as well as their whanau and families.” Cutting these courses excludes people from the skills and knowledge that tertiary education offers.
You can send a message to the vice chancellor of the University of Waikato that you do not support these cuts by completing this form below. You can either leave the message as it is written or add your own thoughts. After you have sent your message visit our online forum to let us know what we should include in our union submission to the vice chancellor
